30 December 2012Virginia A. Mercuriali, 93, of Louisville, Ky., formerly of Sioux City, passed away Dec. 25, 2012, at her residence.
Virginia’s body will be brought back to Sioux City to be laid next to her husband in Memorial Park Cemetery in Sioux City. Arrangements are under the direction of Morningside Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Home.
Virginia was born on June 26, 1919 in Spencer, Iowa, to Hal and Tinka (Sundet) Summers. As a child the family moved to Sioux City in 1922. Virginia grew up in Sioux City and graduated from East High School in 1937. She later attended Morningside College.
Virginia married Nida Mercuriali on Aug. 6, 1939, in Thurston, Neb. He passed away June 9, 1982, in Sioux City.
She was a member of the Floyd Golf Course, and a member of St. Luke’s Circle.
She is survived by her daughter, Nancy and Roland Butcher of Louisville; a son, Hal Mercuriali of San Diego, Calif.; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
