Jeffrey C. Hines, 59, of Rodney died Friday, Dec. 21, 2012, at his home surrounded by his family.

Private services will be held at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Waterbury Funeral Service in Sergeant Bluff, Iowa.

Jeff was born Oct. 17, 1953, in Sioux City, the son of John and Janice (Sasslin) Hines. He graduated from Central High School in 1972.

Jeff then graduated from Western Iowa Tech Community College, where he learned carpentry. Jeff then moved to Boulder, Colo., and worked there for 10 years. He moved back in 1996 and started Hines Woodwork in Rodney.

On Feb. 28, 1997, Jeff was united in marriage to Kelly Joines.

While running his own business, he spent much of his time building his dream home in rural Rodney. Jeff had his own sawmill and made most of his furniture. He enjoyed long walks and the beauty of nature. Jeff was very spiritual, and his family was the center of his life. One of Jeff’s passions was watching the stock market.

Jeff is survived by his wife, Kelly; his daughter, Haley Hines; son, Blake Joines; and his siblings, John, Susie and Judy.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
