Susan Linda Riherd, 62, of Sioux City, formerly of Sloan, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, Dec. 15, 2012, at a Sioux City hospital.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Salix, Iowa, with the Rev. Patrick O'Kane officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery in Salix. Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. today at Waterbury Funeral Service in Sergeant Bluff. Online condolences for the family may be extended at www.waterburyfuneralserviceinc.com.

Susan was born Sept. 12, 1950, in Pickstown, S.D., the daughter of Gideon and Betty (Cole) Permann.

She married Rick Riherd in 1970. The couple later divorced.

She moved from Spearville, Ky., to the Sloan area in 1987.

Susan was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. She enjoyed crafts, sewing, gardening and collecting antiques.

Survivors include her son, Jeffrey (Sara) of Farmington, Ark.; her daughter, Jennifer Rand of Sloan; her brother, Robert; two sisters, Sandy (Babe) McCabe of Lake Andes, S.D., and Sheila Hisek of Tyndall, S.D.; six grandchildren; and her ex-husband, Rick of Sloan.
