MOVILLE, Iowa — Gladys M. Petersen, 80, of Moville died Thursday, June 20, 1996, at the Countryside Retirement Home in Sioux City following a lengthy illness.

Services will be 2 p.m. Monday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Moville with the Rev. Michael A. Kroona of the church officiating. Burial will be in Arlington Township Cemetery, Moville. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time Monday at the church. The McCulloch Funeral Home of Moville is handling arrangements.

Mrs. Petersen, the former Gladys Smith, was born Jan. 24, 1916, in Hecla, S.D., the daughter of Alfred J. and Clara J. (Schutt) Smith. She attended schools in Hecla and Moville. She moved to Moville as a child and lived there the rest of her life. She married William C. Petersen on Dec. 6, 1933, in Dakota City. He died Jan. 17, 1994, in Sioux City.

Mrs, Petersen was a former member of Trinity Lutheran Church of Moville.

Survivors include a son and his wife, Derl and Linda of Moville; a brother Lester of Moville; a granddaughter, Sherri Harris; a grandson, Timothy J. Petersen; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She was also preceded in death by a brother, Roy Smith; two sisters, Irene Gallagher and Ethel Edminston; and a great-granddaughter, Amy Petersen.

Pallbearers will he Lester, Wesley. Pat and Andy Smith, Tim Petersen and Mark Harris.
