Rose Patterson, 94, of Anthon died Saturday, March 4, 1995, at Sunny View Care Center in Ankeny.

Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at the United Methodist Church in Anthon with Pastor Walter Bernard officiating. Burial will be in the Correctionville Cemetery. Visitation will be after 2 p.m. today, with a prayer service at 7 p.m. at the Walter-Armstrong Funeral Home in Anthon.

Mrs. Patterson was born Oct. 11,1900, in Warwickshire, England, the daughter of David and Mary(Timson) Bennett. She came to the United States in 1913 with her family and lived in the Anthon area. She married George Patterson March 28, 1923, in Sioux City. The couple lived on the family farm in the Anthon area. He died May 13,1960,She moved to the care center in 1985.

Mrs. Patterson was a member of the United Methodist Church in Anthon, United Methodist Women and McNiff Post 389, American Legion Auxiliary of of Anthon.

Survivors include a son, Wayne and his wife, Alta of Anthon; three daughters, Margaret Scharnweber of Ankeny, Mary Hornolka of Omaha and Maria and her husband, Donald Bolen of Westland, Mich.; eight grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by four brothers; two sisters, and one grandson.

Pallbearers will be Steven and Scott Bolen, Steve Brown, David Bumsted, David Riland and James White.
