Myrtle M. Kelsey,95,of Sioux City died Thursday, June 18,1998, at Sunrise Retirement Home.

Services will be at 11.a.m. Monday, at United Methodist Church Hornick, Iowa with the Rev. Ed. Elliott officiating. Private burial will be in Willow Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. today with the family present from 6 to 8 p.m. at Nelson-Berger Northside Chapel.

Mrs. Kelsey was born June 14, 1903, in Deloit, Iowa the daughter of Charles and Cora (Brogden) Cose. She attended public school in Deloit. She married C. Paul Kelsey May 14, 1923, in Denison, Iowa. The couple lived in Hornick, Iowa. During World War II, they moved to Tacoma, Wash. where she was employed in the shipyards. They returned to Hornick in 1946. He died March 25,1954. She was employed as a cook coordinator in the WestWood Community Schools in Hornick from 1953 until her retirement in 1973.

She was a member of the Hornick United Methodist Church where she was active in many of the women's groups. She was also former member of the Library Club.

Survivors include a son and his wife, Donald and Barbara Kelsey, of Sioux City; four grandchildren,Scott Kelsey, Susan Koch, David Kelsey, and Steven Kelsey; nine great-grandchildren; two sisters, Opal Hansen of Denison, and Bernice and her husband, Cleo Robinson, of Danbury, Iowa; a brotherin:law, Robert Boyd of Burdette, Minn.; a sister-in-law, Irene Case of Maurice, Iowa; and many nieces and nephews.

She was also preceded in death by two sons, Charles and Keith; two sisters, Mildred Boyd and Ruby Heinken; and two brothers, Wayne and DeOrr.

Memorials in her name have been established for the United Methodist Church of Hornick, Sunrise Retirement Community and Hospice of Siouxland.
