SIOUX CITY | Ruth J. Buddi, 88, of Sioux City died Wednesday, Nov. 7, 2012, at Countryside Nursing and Rehabilitation Center following a brief illness.

Memorial services will be 3 p.m. today at Wesley United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Nea Huggins officiating. Visitation with the family will be the hour prior to the service today at church. Arrangements are under the direction of Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel. Condolences may be sent online at www.meyerbroschapels.com.

Ruth was born on July 17, 1924, in Sioux City, the daughter of William and Martha (Miller) Campbell. She attended Sioux City schools and graduated from Central High School. Ruth worked for Wincharger Corp. before and after World War II. During the war, she worked at the Sioux City military base in the defense plant. She then moved to Peterson Field in Colorado Springs, Colo., where she was a limousine driver for the generals. Upon her return to Sioux City, she was employed by Caterpillar Tractor. Ruth retired from Harold’s Photo Center.

On May 27, 1960, she married Ted Buddi in Sioux City. He died on Aug. 24, 1999, in Omaha.

Ruth loved meeting people and enjoyed volunteering at St. Luke’s Regional Medical Center and the Siouxland Senior Center. She was active in T.O.P.S. and enjoyed playing cards. In earlier years, she liked boating and fishing and loved to travel. She was a longtime member of Wesley United Methodist Church.

Survivors include two daughters and their husbands, Sharon and David Anderson of Omaha, and Sandy and Jack Lathrop of Andrews, N.C.; three grandchildren and their spouses, Matthew William and Melissa Anderson, Angela and Michael Mitchell, and Adam and Maria Lathrop; and a niece, Diana Buddi.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, Ted.

Memorials may be made in her name to The Food Bank of Sioux City.
