CORRECTIONVILLE, Iowa —Elsie E. Rowse, 98, of Correctionville died Thursday, April 13, 2000, at Correctionville Nursing and Rehab Center.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Barker Funeral Home in Correctionville, with the Rev. Consorcia A. Sanchez officiating. Burial will be in Correctionville Cemetery. Visitation will be 1 to 8 p.m. Sunday, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m., at the funeral Home.

Mrs. Rowse was born Jan. 17, 1902, in Moville, Iowa, the daughter of William H. and Hulda (Amsler) Rippke. She attended rural schools in Woodbury and Plymouth counties. She worked at her father's restaurant in Anthon, Iowa, and Correctionville.

She married Edward M. Rowse on June 29, 1935, in Waterloo, Iowa. They made their home in Correctionville. He died in 1966.

She attended Grace United Methodist Church in Correctionville. She enjoyed cooking, baking and the out-doors.

Survivors include two sons, Thomas E. and his wife, Barbara of Correctionville and Thurman of the Philippines; a daughter, Janell Rowe of Texarkana, Texas; three grandchildren, Roxanne Hart and David and Elizabeth Rowse; two great-grandchildren; two sisters, Anna Kuhrtz of Sayre, Okla., and Emma Munsen of Correctionville; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by two granddaughters, Mary and Jennifer Rowse; five sisters, Carrie and Rose Rippke, Dorothy Anderson, Marie Hodges and Frances Hite; and three brothers, Peter, William and Henry Rippke.

Pallbearers will be Reed Henrighsen, Wayne Zanley, Kenneth Petersen, Brian Briese, John Jacobs Jr. and Jeffrey Schroeder.
