CORRECTIONVILLE, Iowa --Marie V. Ashmore, 102, of Correctionville died Tuesday, July 27, 1999, at Correctionville Nursing and Rehab Center.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Grace United Methodist Church in Correctionville, with the Rev. Consorcia A. Sanchez officiating.

Burial will be in Correctionville Cemetery.

Visitation will be 11 a m. to 8 p.m. Friday, with the family present 7 to 8 p.m., at Barker Funeral Home in Correctionville.

Mrs. Ashmore was born. June 3, 1897 in Ida County, Iowa, the daughter of Solomon and Martha (Johnson) Olson. She attended country schools.

She married Fred Ashmore on Feb. 15, 1920, in Sioux City. The couple lived in the Cushing, Iowa, and Correctionville area. She entered Correctionville Nursing and Rehab Center in September 1988.

She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church and Ladies Aid.

Survivors include a daughter, Wanda Jacobs of Correctionville; two grandchildren, Barbara Rowse and John Jacobs; five great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband; a son-in-law, Clifford Jacobs; two infant great-grand-daughters, two sisters and five brothers.
