Ruth F. DeKay, 100, Countryside Retirement Home, died Tuesday, Jan. 22, 1991, at the nursing home after a long illness.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Nelson-Berger Northside Chapel with the Rev. Laird R. Keever of Mayflower Congregational Church, officiating. Burial will be in Graceland Park Cemetery. Visitation will be prior to service time Saturday at the funeral home.

Mrs. DeKay, the former Ruth F. Landeck, was born Jan. 6, 1891, in Red Wing, Minn., the daughter of Herman and Kathryn (Werner) Landeck. She received her schooling at Red Wing and graduated from the Women's Conservatory of Music. She came to Sioux City in 1917 where she taught piano lessons for many years.

Mrs. DeKay was a member of Mayflower Congregational Church and had been active in church organizations.

Survivors include a daughter, Shirley Christensen of Sioux City; a granddaughter, Marilyn Howell of Hong Hong, a grandson, Dale Christensen of Houston, Texas; five great-grandchildren and several nieces,

She was preceded in death by six brothers and sisters.

Pallbearers will be Jim Willits, Jerry Behrens, Frank Brinkerhoff, and Dale Christensen.
