MOVILLE, Iowa — Lyle E. McElrath, 68, of Moville died Wednesday, Dec. 20, 2000 in Sioux City.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. today at Moville.

United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Harold E. Werley officiating. Christy-Smith McCulloch Chapel in Moville is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. McElrath was born Aug. 2, 1932, in Sioux City, the son of Glen and Esther (Wahlberg) McElrath. He attended school and graduated from Moville High School.

He married Leone Sparks on Dec. 31, 1949, in Moville. The couple made their home in Moville, where he was employed in farming and the trucking industry.

He was a member of Moville United Methodist Church.

Survivors include his wife; two sons and their wives, Craig and Vicki, and Steve and Susie, all of Moville; three daughters and their husbands, Sue and Dale Luikens of Hill City, S.D., Lori and Bill Willer of Moville, and Julie and Mike Davidson of Ankeny, Iowa; a brother and his wife, Leo and Phyllis of Humboldt, Iowa; and 12 grandchildren, Adam, Ryan, Luke, Whitney and Taylor McElrath, Lindy Schweitzberger, Chad Willer, Holly Rademacher, Mindy and T.J. Mitchell, Abby Schwarz , and Amanda Davidson.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a grandson, Jeremy Willer.

Honorary casketbearers were his grandchildren.
