Services held for Theodore "Ted" Jahn

Theodore J. "Ted" Jahn, 88, of Antioch, Calif., formerly of Moville, died Wednesday, Dec. 13, 2000, in Antioch following a brief illness.

Services were at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Christy-Smith McCulloch Chapel in Moville, with the Rev. Harold E. Werley of Moville United Methodist Church officiating. Burial was in Arlington Township Cemetery.

Mr. Jahn was born April 11, 1912, in Moville. He had been a longtime resident of Moville. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

He married Gladys M. Kovama on June 17, 1954, near Spirit Lake, Iowa. He owned and operated Ted Jahn Truckin Co. for 15 years in Moville, retiring in 1972. His wife died July 17, 1994, in Sioux City. He had been a resident of Antioch for a year.

He was a member of Elks Lodge 2057 in Weslaco, Texas, and enjoyed playing cards and gambling.

Survivors include a son and his wife, Jerry and Katherine of Antioch; two sisters, Minnie Sargent of Kingsley, Iowa, and Emma Haring of Sioux City; two brothers, Alfred "Rex" and Harry W. "Buck", both of Moville; four grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild, and several nieces and nephews.
