SIOUX CITY | Robert A. "Bob" Zimmerman, 54, of Sioux City passed away unexpectedly Thursday, Oct. 25, 2012, at his home.

A celebration of life service will be held at a future date. Arrangements are under the direction of Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel.

Bob was born on Oct. 22, 1958, in Sioux City, the son of Leslie and Dorothy (Loetz) Zimmerman. Bob was a lifelong Sioux City resident having attended Emerson Elementary, West Junior and West High, graduating in 1977. Bob received a bachelor of science degree from Morningside College and a master’s degree from Wayne State College. He served in the U.S. Army.

Bob married Mary Francis "Francie" in June 1977. He then married Rebecca Zierott (Boyd) in 1988. Bob worked for Weller Plastics, now Wis-Pak Plastics, Spectra Grafx Studios, Now It Works, Maxs / Siouxland Embers America, Beef Products Inc, Distinctive Gourmet and Bomgaars.

Bob was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. He was a devoted father and Christian. He loved and appreciated his children, family and friends. He loved the Chicago Bears, Iowa Hawkeyes, bowling and tennis. He was a friend of Bill W. and Dr. Bob.

Survivors include his children, Sarah Kathryn Zimmerman and Henry William Zimmerman, both of Sioux City; his stepson, Seth Daniel Haskins of Sioux City; three brothers, Leslie (Rose) Zimmerman of Sioux City and their sons, Randy and Ricky Zimmerman, Tom Zimmerman of Milwaukee, Wis. and his daughters, Shelly and Christine Zimmerman, and John Zimmerman of Sioux City; and grandnieces and grandnephews, Tyler, Brandon, Alison, Cody and Alexander Zimmerman.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents.
