SIOUX CITY | Lenny William Farley, 49, of Spencer, Iowa, formerly of Sioux City, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 30, 2012, at Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls, S.D.

Per his family’s wishes, his body will be cremated. Private graveside services will be in Logan Park Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be 5 to 8 p.m. today at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel in Sioux City. Online condolences may be sent to www.meyerbroschapels.com.

Lenny was born on April 24, 1963, to Charles and Sherryann (Berens) Farley. He graduated from North High School and attended Western Iowa Tech Community College. He worked in the IT field for more than 30 years. Previously to coming to GMD Solutions in 2011 as a system engineer, Lenny worked at the Minnesota Department of Revenue, Thrivent Financial, Hughes Space Systems, Raytheon, and Mystic Lake Casino. He holds an MCSE, MCP, MCP+ Internet certificates from Microsoft, CNA from Novell and is also an A+ Certified Service Technician.

Lenny loved to play pool and darts, go fishing, camping, watching car races and racing R/C cars. He was an avid fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers and enjoyed playing golf and spending time with his family. He loved his stepdaughters dearly and always treated them as his own.

He is survived by his mother, Sherryann (Edward) Luft of Sioux City; father, Charles (Mary) Farley of Wakefield, Kan.; three stepdaughters, Sydney Jo Frye, Terren Morgan Frye, and Tawney Mae Hollister, all of Minnesota; three brothers, James (Monique) Farley of Papillion, Neb., Kenneth Farley of Sioux City, and Jeremy (Angela) Farley of Sioux City; stepsister, Beth Ann Dunn of Wakefield, Kan.; three nieces; and two nephews.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Joseph and Marie Farley; and maternal grandparents, Arthur and Opal Berens.
