SIOUX CITY | Selma M. Corey, 91, of Sioux City died Friday, Oct. 26, 2012, at a local care facility.

Services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Thomas Orthodox Church. The Rev. Lucas Rice will officiate. Burial will be in St. Thomas Orthodox Cemetery in Graceland Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. today, with a Trisagion service at 7 p.m., all at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of Nelson-Berger Northside Chapel.

Selma was born on Dec. 9, 1920, in Millboro, S.D., the daughter of Nick and Marina (Abdouch ) Corey. She grew up in South Dakota and Nebraska before coming to Sioux City. She worked at Joseph’s Market for many years.

Selma was a member of St. Thomas Orthodox Church and the Ladies Club. She enjoyed cooking and playing cards.

Selma is survived by two sisters, Margaret Kott of Sioux City and Joyce Ablan of Lacrosse, Wis.; and a sister-in-law, Blanche Corey of Sioux City. She was also loved by all of her nieces and nephews.

Selma was preceded in death by eight brothers and sisters.

Pallbearers will be Pat Saunders, Pat, Brian and Larry Corey, Jason Untrauer, T.J. Corey and Tyler Jones.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to St. Thomas Orthodox Church.
