September 25, 2012SIOUX CITY | Alan Wayne Bertrand, 58, of Excelsior Springs, Mo., formerly of Sioux City, passed away Friday, Sept. 21, 2012.
Burial will be at a later date. Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond, Mo., is handling arrangements.
Alan was born Nov. 26, 1953, in Sioux City, to Donald and Marie (LaCroix) Bertrand. He served in the U.S. Army.
He married Sheila Barker on July 23, 1994.
Alan was an assembly worker at the Ford plant in Kansas City, Mo. He was a member of United Auto Workers Union, and Pisgah Baptist Church in Excelsior Springs.
Alan was an avid hunter, fisherman and outdoorsman.
Survivors include his wife, Sheila; his mother, Marie Bertrand of Sioux City; two daughters, Angel (Glenn) Houpt of Evergreen, Colo., and Amy (Eliseo) Ochoa of Lincoln, Neb.; two stepsons, Greg (Andrea) Kleider of Sioux City and Jeremey (Mary) Kleider (Mary) of Dakota City, Neb.; three brothers, Steven (Christy) Bertrand of Lincoln, Jay (Carol) Bertrand of Rayville, Mo., and Devlin (Kelly) Bertrand of South Sioux City; two sisters, Diane (Denny) Jackson of Eagle, Neb., and Donita (Roger) Seiler of Merrill, Iowa; and grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father, Donald; a brother, Thomas; a niece, Bethany Bertrand; a sister-in-law, Sheena Krishnan; and his mother-in-law, Gail Barker.
