Michael D. "Mike" Melham, 67, of Whiting passed away Sunday, June 5, 2011, peacefully in his sleep at his residence.

Per his wishes, the body was cremated. Services will be 11 a.m. Friday at Nelson-Berger Northside Chapel in Sioux City, with the Rev. Jeff Cooper officiating. Burial will be in Willow Township Cemetery in rural Holly Springs, Iowa. Online condolences may be posted at www.meyerbroschapels.com.

Michael was born March 9, 1944, in Sioux City, the son of Eli and Geraldine (Lewis) Melham. He received his schooling in Sioux City, graduating from Central High School in 1963.

He married Pamela J. "Pam" Forney on Jan. 19, 1979, in Sioux City.

Mike was a city bus driver for many years.

Michael enjoyed collecting John F. Kennedy and "Honeymooners" memorabilia and watching The History Channel.

Survivors include his loving wife of 32 years, Pam of Whiting; a brother, Gerald (Donna) Melham of Sioux City; an aunt, Margaret Harms of Calgary, Canada; a niece, Cindy (Jeff) Cooper of Canby, Minn.; three sisters-in-law, Sandra Welch of Denison, Iowa, Linda (Larry) Scadden of Sioux City, and Sherry (Rick) Book of Sioux City; a special friend, Linda Barnes of Moville; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a stillborn daughter, Jeannine; and a brother-in-law, Larry.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family.
