Lucille D. Malcom, 90, of Sioux City passed away Sunday, April 1, 2012, at Westwood Nursing Home.

Memorial services will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel, with the Rev. Tess Panamarow officiating. Burial of the cremains will be at a later date. There will be no visitation. Condolences may be sent online to www.meyerbroschapels.com.

Lucille was born on Oct. 15, 1921, in Tabor, S.D., to Frank and Mildred (Malcom) Carson. She graduated from Bristow (Neb.) High School and attended WIT to earn her truck driving credentials.

She was married to Loren Reynolds in August 1940 in Sioux City. To this union four children were born. The marriage ended in divorce. She was later married to Clyde Story in 1980, which ended in divorce in 1985.

She worked at several places over the years including Wincharger, Sioux City Schools in the lunch department, as a waitress and a hospital lab tech. She spent the majority of her career driving semi trucks for Hyle and Hirschbach Transportation.

Lucille enjoyed gardening and was a master gardener. She belonged to the Claude A. Barr Memorial Garden Association. One of her proudest moments was being asked to help design the original rose garden in Grandview Park. Besides gardening and flowers, Lucille enjoyed painting, crocheting, knitting and being with her many pets.

Lucille is survived by her daughter, Rosemary Porterfield; two grandchildren, Diana Pacatte and John (Heather) Porterfield; and four great-grandchildren, all of Sioux City.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two sons, Loren Lee and Joseph John Reynolds; a daughter, Elaine Ruth; three brothers, Duane, Richard and Alonzo Divis; and two sisters, Darlene Brooks and Edna.
