Lois Larkin, 77, of Sioux City passed away Monday, July 23, 2012, at her daughter's home surrounded by family.

Abiding by Lois’ wishes, cremation will take place and there will be no services. Arrangements are under the direction of Nelson-Berger Northside Chapel.

Lois was born on June 9, 1935, in Sioux City to Orville and Della (Reynolds) LeMoine. Following her education, she married Leo J. Larkin Jr. on Jan. 28, 1956, in South Sioux City, Neb.

Lois was a kind and gentle person with a big heart. Lois was a full-time homemaker who opened her home to others, often assisting in the raising of her children’s friends as well as her own. She enjoyed camping and fishing in her earlier days, as well as knitting, needlepoint, crossword puzzles and reading a good book. Lois especially enjoyed hearing about her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren and their activities.

Lois is survived by four children, Steven Larkin of Sioux City, Jackie Williamson of Athens, Ga., Denise Brink of Sioux City, and Mark (Lori) Larkin of Sergeant Bluff; 10 grandchildren, Chris (Ashley) Larkin, Carol (Colby) White, Corey Larkin, Tyler Embler, Steven Embler, Kenny Williamson, Sammy Williamson, Kaylee Carlberg, Allison Carlberg, and Lane Larkin; three great-grandchildren, Tristen, Kayden, and Tyler Larkin; dear friend, Dee Sanson; two brothers, Ronald LeMoine and Merlin LeMoine.

Lois was preceded in death by her parents and husband Leo in December, 2011.
