April 18, 2012Enola Steineke, 90, of Sioux City died Thursday, April 12, 2012, at a local care facility.
Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Tri-State Christian Church in South Sioux City. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of Waterbury Funeral Service. Enola was born on April 1, 1922, in Cleghorn, Iowa, the daughter of Emile and Mary (Springer) Ducommun. She attended beauty school following her graduation from high school.
She was united in marriage with Ronald L. Stieneke in 1943. Ron preceded Enola in death on July 11, 2011, in Sioux City. Enola worked as a beautician for a few years. She later was employed as a lunch assistant for the Sioux City Community Schools, but spent most of her life as a wife and mother.
She enjoyed baking, and formerly bowled in league play in Sioux City.
Enola is survived by her son, Jerry and his wife, Pam of Sioux City; her daughter, Jackie Eakin of Mechanicsburg, Pa.; her five grandchildren, Robin Lardie, Jared and Jason Rimmer, Peggy Mette, and Penny Lechuga; and two great-grandchildren, Hayden (Jack) Mette, and Hannah Rimmer.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ron; brothers, Elvin, Clair, Ralph, Delmar, Roy, and Frank; and sisters, Elva and Marie.
Memorials in her name may be made to Tri-State Christian Church in South Sioux City.
