Catherine E. Martin, 91, of Sioux City passed away Tuesday, Jan. 17, 2012, at her residence.

Memorial services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel, with the Rev. Nea Huggins officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service Saturday at the funeral home. Online condolences may be sent to www.meyerbroschapels.com.

Catherine was born June 16, 1920, in Waterloo, Iowa, to Ernest and Alice (Waterman) Gram. She graduated from Central High School. She worked on the assembly line for Wincharger and later Zenith for 21 years.

She was married to Leo McCoy Martin on Sept. 13, 1941 in Ponca, Neb. He preceded her in death on March 4, 1995 in Sioux City.

Catherine loved to do embroidery work and knit. She enjoyed the fellowship of her neighbors at Countryside Apartments and spending time with her family. Most of all, she loved the companionship of her little dog Lady. She was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women and Naomi Circle.

She is survived by her three daughters, Marlene (Charles) Fowler of South Sioux City, Carlene (Jack) Lawrence of Aberdeen, S.D., and Linda (Mark) Ferner of Urbandale, Iowa; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandson.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and a grandson, Danny.
