April 27, 2012Charlene E. "Sherry" Gunther, 69, of Sergeant Bluff died Tuesday, April 24, 2012, at a local hospital.
Services will be 3:30 pm Saturday at Shepherd of Peace Lutheran Church in Sergeant Bluff. Burial will be in Meadow Ridge Cemetery, Elk Ridge, Md. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. today at Waterbury Funeral Service in Sergeant Bluff.
Sherry was born on April 15, 1943, in Jersey City, N.J., the daughter of Charles and Edith (Sadler) Scott. She was raised in Maryland and moved to Sergeant Bluff in 2008. She worked for Northwest/Delta Airlines from 1995 until present.
Sherry is survived by three daughters, Karlene Zepp of Sergeant Bluff, Karen and her husband, David Holtz of Pasadena, Md., and Kathryn and her husband, Kevin Camden of Glen Burnie, Md.; three sons, Keith Scott of Annapolis, Md., Kevin Gunther and his wife, Dawn of Myrtle Beach, S.C., and Kyle Gunther of Myrtle Beach; seven grandchildren; a great-grandchild; and her adopted daughters, Inge Forsmann and her family of Denmark, and Kirsti Fiske and her family from Norway.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
