Keith J. Biernbaum, 50, of Sioux City died Tuesday, April 24, 2012.

Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at New Life Lutheran Church in Sergeant Bluff, with the Rev. Mark Groves officiating. Burial will be in Graceland Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. today at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of Waterbury Funeral Service.

Keith Joseph Biernbaum was born on Aug. 18, 1961, in Osmond, Neb., the son of Arthur Biernbaum and Rita (Luft) Kessler. He graduated from Randolph (Neb.) Public School in 1979 and in 1981 from Northeast Community College in Norfolk, Neb. He spent his career in the trucking industry, first as a diesel mechanic and then later on as a claims adjuster.

On May 12, 1984, Keith was united in marriage to Jean Koll in Wayne, Neb.

Keith enjoyed his family. He was a coach for his daughters' sports activities as they grew up. Keith enjoyed volleyball and listening to music at home and concerts and going to movies. He was a great friend and helped others. He also enjoyed and collected John Deere tractors.

Keith is survived by his wife, Jean; two daughters, Kayla Biernbaum and Krista Biernbaum; his mother, Rita Kessler; two brothers, Arlen Biernbaum and Mark Biernbaum; four sisters, LaDonna Leiting, Sharon Peterson, Arlis Wattier and Jan Wrick; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Arthur; one sister, Carla Schmitt; and two brothers, Frances Biernbaum and Galen Biernbaum.
