Marcelene D. "Marcie" Myers, 75, of Allen, Texas, formerly of Sioux City, passed away Friday, March 30, 2012, at her home after a prolonged illness.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Boniface Catholic Church, with the Rev. Gerald Feierfeil officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation with the family present will be 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. Online condolences may be directed to meyerbroschapels.com.

Marcie was born the daughter of Edward and Ida Laverdure, as their youngest daughter, on Dec. 19, 1936. Marcie attended St. Boniface and graduated from Heelan High School in Sioux City in 1955.

In 1956, she married the late Glenn Myers of Ponca, Neb. They were married 43 years until his death in 2000. Before moving to Allen, they resided in Garland, Texas, for many years. Marcie obtained an associate's degree in 1978, beginning her 20-year career with the I.R.S. in the personnel department. She had made many friends during her tenure as well as receiving numerous achievement awards.

After retirement, the real fun began. She then discovered her love of traveling, touring Europe with Angela, cruising Alaska, the Caribbean, New England and Canada, luaus in the Hawaiian Islands, margaritas in Mexico and rediscovering her childhood at Disneyworld. When not traveling, Marcie enjoyed her time spent with many friends at the Senior Center.

Marcie is survived by her three sons, Dr. Jeffrey (Teresa) Myers of Garland, Texas, Bruce (Sheri) Myers of McKinney, Texas, and Michael (Charlotte) Myers of Plano, Texas; one sister, Roseanna Ash of Sioux City; her adored three grandchildren, Angela, Jason and Adrienne Myers; and three great-grandchildren, Bradley, Patience and Lacy Stovall.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Crohn's & Colitis Foundation of North Texas, 12801 North Central Expressway, #270, Dallas, TX 75243.
