Sherman L. "Skip" Mason, 42, of Sioux City passed away Thursday, Feb. 9, 2012, after a long battle with cancer.

There will be no services. Arrangements are under the direction of Waterbury Funeral Service.

Sherman Lee Mason was born in Fresno, Calif., on March 4, 1969, the son of Ron Mason and Linda Spain. Skip moved to Sioux City in May 2009, where he was employed as a painter.

He enjoyed the outdoors, especially camping and fishing. Skip loved working on cars and riding motorcycles. Skip lived life to the fullest and loved spending time with his family.

Skip is survived by his wife, Violet; seven children, Gabrielle, Hunter and Tanner Mason, Carlos Jauregui of Fresno, Calif., Olivia from San Antonio, Texas, and Gabriel and Raymond Jauregui of Sioux City; his father, Ron Mason and his wife, Rhonda of Stafford, Mo.; his mother, Linda and her husband, Shorty Smith of Clovis, Calif.; his brother, Joe Mason; and his sister, Katrina Mason, both of Fresno; three grandchildren, Aidan, Lilliana and Anthony; and several nieces and nephews.
