Frances A. Schrunk age 88 of Danbury died Thursday April 30, 1998. at a Sioux City hospital.

Services were held 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Danbury with Rev. David Hogan officiating. Burial was In the Danbury Catholic Cemetery. A rosary was held on Friday at 3:30 p.m. by St. Mary's Rosary Society and a Vigil Wake Service was held at 7:30 p.m. at the Armstrong Chapel in Mapleton.

Frances Agnes Schrunk was born November 11. 1909 at Danbury, Iowa, the daughter of Jacob and Frances (Wieling) Sohm. On February 9, 1931, she was united in marriage to Otto F. Schrunk in Danbury.

The couple farmed in the Danbury- Mapleton area. Otto died May 5, 1960. Frances remained on the farm where she lived a total of 60 years. She moved into Danbury in November 1990.

She was a lifelong member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Danbury as well as St. Mary's Rosary Society.

Those survivors left to cherish her memory include two daughters, Odelia Schrunk of Clinton, Iowa and Barbara Schrunk of Danbury; seven sons, Charlie and his wife, Genevieve of Mapleton. Iowa, John and his friend, Vicki of Sioux City, Iowa, LeRoy and his wife, Sally of LeMars, Iowa, Ace and his wife, Mary of Omaha, Nebraska, Otto and his wife, Kathy of Sioux City, Iowa, Bruce and his wife, Tina of Mapleton, Iowa and Byron and his wife, Patti of San Antonio, Texas; 24 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren; one brother, Carl Sohm of Danbury and one sister, Odelia and her husband, Galen Lacey of Chatfield, Minnesota, along with many other relatives, neighbors and good friends.

Along with her husband, Frances was preceded in death by her parents, one grandson, Christopher Schrunk, four sisters and four brothers.

Pallbearers were Jason Schrunk, Jim Schrunk, Joe Schrunk, Ryon Schrunk, Kevin Schrunk and Don Schrunk. Arrangements were made under the direction of the Armstrong Funeral Home of Danbury- Mapleton.
