SIOUX CITY -- Arnold S. Pyle, 77, of Glen Ellyn, Ill., formerly of Sioux City, passed away Sunday, Feb. 5, 2012, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Downers Grove, Ill. following a lengthy illness.

Services will be held at a later date in Sioux City.

Arnold was born on Sept. 24, 1934, in Sioux City, to James and Mildred (Stillian) Pyle. He graduated from Central High School in 1953 and attended Elmhurst College in Elmhurst, Ill.

He was united in marriage to Patricia Foster in 1953, in Sioux City. He served in the U.S. Air Force eight years from 1953 to 1962. He was a system analyst for International Harvester and retired from Trans. America.

Survivors include his wife, Patricia; a son, Arnold F. and wife Peggyann (Knauf) Pyle of Glen Ellyn, Ill.; a daughter, Cheryl L. and husband Pete O. Ingle of Wheaton, Ill.; eight grandchildren; sister-in-law, Roberta (John) Peterson of Fort Wayne, Ind.; brother-in-law, Elgin J. (Kathleen Lynch) Foster of of Prior Lake, Minn.; sister-in-law, Irene Pyle of Sioux City; along with many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Donald Pyle; and two sisters, Dorothy Silzer and Mavis Pyle.
