SIOUX CITY -- Don A. Prittie, 80, of Sioux City passed away Saturday, Feb. 11, 2012 at his residence in Sioux City.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Michael Catholic Church, with the Rev. Gary Snyder officiating. Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, with a prayer service at 7 p.m., at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of Waterbury Funeral Service.

Don was born on Feb. 27, 1931 in Jamestown, N.Y., the son of Fenton and Beatrice (Wethey) Prittie. He graduated in 1949 from high school in Bemus Point, N.Y. After graduation, he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and served in Korea during the Korean War.

Don was united in marriage to Delia Anne Conley in 1955 at Jamestown, N.Y. They moved to Sioux City seven years later. Don started and owned Prittie's Construction.

Don coached Little League baseball in the area for 10 years. He attended St. Michael Catholic Church. He was a 32nd Degree Mason, and served as Master in 1973 with the North Riverside Lodge 662. He was also a member of the Scottish Rites.

Don is survived by his wife, Delia; his children, Deon and her husband, Steven Sitzmann of Sioux City, Don Prittie and his wife, Dianna of Dakota City, Daryl Prittie and his wife, Carol of Murrysville, Pa., Daniel Prittie and his wife, Trish of Westfield, N.Y., and Shane Prittie and his wife, Laura of Allen, Texas; his brother, Wayne Prittie of New York; and his grandchildren, Steven and his wife, Katherine, Heath and his wife, Stacy, Breanna and her husband, Seth, Kianna, Quinn, Carter, William, Megan, Joshua and his wife, Lindsey, Kacy, Taylor and Erin and her husband, Trevor.

He was preceded in death by an infant son; his parents; and a brother, Fenton Prittie.

Pallbearers will be Steve Sitzmann, Heath Sitzmann, William Prittie, Joshua Prittie, Tucker Sitzman and Matthew Warfield. Honorary pallbearers will be Quinn Sitzmann, Carter Sitzman, Jakob Ruhrer, and Bowen Dendinger.
