CORRECTIONVILLE, Iowa -- Maxine Rose Wright, 99, of Correctionville passed away Tuesday, Feb. 7, 2012, at Correctionville Nursing and Rehab Center.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Grace United Methodist Church in Correctionville. Burial will be in Correctionville Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m. and a prayer service at 7 p.m., at Nicklas D. Jensen Funeral Home in Correctionville.

Maxine was born July 26, 1912, in Rock Township, Woodbury County, Correctionville, the daughter of Earl T. and Myrtle L. (Worthan) Shever. She was raised and educated in the Correctionville area and was a member of the Grace United Methodist Church in Correctionville.

On Nov. 10, 1931, she was married to Virgil LeRoy Wright in Elk Point, S.D. They were married for more than 62 years before his death on July 16, 1994. They farmed in the Correctionville area most of their life before retiring and moving to Correctionville in 1973.

Maxine is survived by four daughters, Shirley (Francis) Larsen of Correctionville, Eileen Jeffrey of Correctionville, Sharon Groepper of Escondido, Calif., and Janet Rae (Wayne) Nielsen of Oskaloosa, Iowa; daughter-in-law, Sandra Wright of Correctionville; 15 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; 20 great-great-grandchildren and four more on the way.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Virgil; son, LeRoy; two grandsons, Darrell Jeffrey and Gregg Groepper; a great-granddaughter, Billie Jean (Wink) Umbach; son-in-law, Ernest "Bud" Jeffrey; her parents; three brothers, Ervin, Alvin and Kenneth; one sister Gwendolyn; and Maxine's faithful dog, Pep.
