SIOUX CITY -- James Arthur Miller, 69, of Sioux City was called to our Heavenly Father on Monday, Feb. 13, 2012.

Memorial services will be 7 p.m. Monday at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel, with the Rev. Allen Wicks of First Lutheran Church officiating. Private graveside services will be Tuesday in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to service time Monday at the funeral home.

The second of three children, Jim was born on June 8, 1942, to Arthur Charles and Pearl Gertrude (Bonnes) Miller. He lived in Sioux City until he was the age of five, when the family moved to a farm in rural Hinton, Iowa. Jim enjoyed growing up on the farm and gained a love of animals, especially his dog, Cap. He loved racing cars with his high school buddies. Jim graduated from Hinton High School in 1962. After graduation, he honored his country with service in the U.S. Navy until Aug. 7, 1967.

Mr. Miller married Dianne Kaye Juhl in October 1963. They made their home in rural Hinton and had two children, Craig and Christie. They divorced in 1969. Mr. Miller married Lois Marie Ostrihonsky in January 1971. The couple made their home on Lafayette Street in Sioux City, and had two children, Kevin and Jennifer. In 1982, the family moved to the Miller farm in Hinton. Mrs. Miller departed this world in 1988. Mr. Miller married Marcie Price in 1992. The couple made their home in McCook Lake, S.D. They later divorced.

Mr. Miller loved riding motorcycles, driving truck for Compressed Steel and the company of others. He had the most kind heart and was always willing to lend a hand to anyone in need. Jim was active as a Mason when the children were young. His family wishes to pay him the highest respect, especially when referring to his gentle nature. Jim was big-hearted, hard-working and loved his grandchildren. After retiring, Jim enjoyed time with his family and friends. All pray that Mr. Miller has gone to Jesus and his loved ones in glory.

He is survived by one sister, Joan Nugent of Yankton, S.D.; and his children, Craig Miller and wife DeDe, their children, Trevor and Katelyn, all of Sergeant Bluff; Christie (Miller) McLaughlin and her children, Justin and Tristan, all of Sioux City; Kevin Miller and Sheila Gerke of Lawton, Iowa; and Jennifer (Miller) Schau and her husband Dan, and their children, Dakota, Jakob and Johannah, all of Castle Rock, Colo.

He was preceded in death by two wives, Lois and Marcie; his parents, Arthur and Pearl Miller; one brother, Donald; and one brother-in-law, Gene Nugent.

Mr. Miller will be peacefully laid to rest next to his parents, Art and Pearl, and his brother, Donald, in Memorial Park Cemetery.
