February 11, 2012 12:00 amSIOUX CITY -- Deanna J. Zimmerman formerly of Sioux City died Feb. 8, 2012, in Omaha.
Visitation and a fellowship meal with the family will be 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at Reichmuth Funeral Home in Elkhorn, Neb. Condolences may be sent to www.reichmuthfuneralhomes.com.
Deanna was born March 23, 1938, in Rockford, Ill. She graduated from Sioux City East High in 1955, and earned her bachelor's degree in business administration from Morningside College in 1959.
She married Denis Zimmerman on July 1, 1960, in Sioux City. The couple managed/owned Santa Surplus Seasonal Christmas Store for 30 years. She then owned Cover to Cover Book Store, and worked for House of Lloyd and H&R Block.
She is survived by sons, Andy of Omaha, Eric (Oma) of Amarillo, Texas, and Ryan (Rebecca) of College Station, Texas; grandchildren, Amanda Smith, Evan Zimmerman, William Zimmerman, Thomas Zimmerman, Ian Zimmerman; great-grandchildren, Rose and Faith Smith; sister, Martha (Olson) Morley and husband, Tom of Sioux City; and her beloved Corgis, Teddy and Tillie.
She was preceded in death by parents, Gerhard and Gladys (Berg) Olson; and husband, Denis Zimmerman.
