SIOUX CITY -- Barbara Marshall, 76, of Ripon, Wis., formerly of Sioux City, died Saturday, April 21, 2012, at Fountain View Care Center in Ripon.

A celebration of life service will be 4 to 5 p.m. Monday at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel in Sioux City.

Barbara was born Jan. 26, 1936 in Iowa, the daughter of John and Margaret (Markel) Erickson. She graduated from high school and married Ted Simon. After Ted's passing, Barbara married David Marshall.

She enjoyed visiting her friends and having coffee. Barbara was most happy when she was camping, playing cribbage, and she also loved her time with her grandkids.

Survivors include a son, John Simon of Germany; a daughter, Christina (Rick) Erdmann of Ripon, Wis.; grandchildren, SSgt. Douglas E. (Nikki) Kesler Jr. of Seattle, Wash, Nina Simon of Tucson, Ariz., Timothy Simon of Germany, and Kyle Erdmann of Ripon; a great-grandchild on the way; two sisters, Kay (Ken) Scheer of Smithland, Iowa, and Ret. Major (USAF) Sharon Erickson of Omaha, Neb.; as well as nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Ted and David; and one son, Edward Simon.

A memorial for Barbara is being established.
