SIOUX CITY -- Alice A. Clark, 102, of Sioux City passed away on Thursday, April 19, 2012, at Countryside Retirement Home.

Memorial services will be 7 p.m. Monday at Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel, with the Rev. Roger Madden officiating. Burial will be 2 p.m. Monday in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Alice was born on Aug. 25, 1909, in Niobrara, Neb., to C.A. and Albertina (Haugen) Simpson. In 1928, she married Donald Nesbit and moved to Norfolk, Neb. They had two daughters, Diana and Bonnie.

While in Norfolk, Alice enjoyed memberships in the Methodist Church, the Ladies Circle, several choirs and other church-related activities. She also worked for I.W. Means Company as the office manager and bookkeeper. In 1943, the family moved to Sioux City. Alice remained active in numerous organizations including the Gospel Mission, Goodwill, Florence Crittendon Home, the Red Cross, St. Luke's Auxiliary, Sioux City Women's Club, Revival Study, Organ Club, Siouxland Rental Association and numerous book clubs. Her husband Don died in 1961, and she later married Paul B. Clark.

Alice worked as a secretary at both Smith and Crescent Park Schools. She and her husband, Paul, entertained at all Sioux City nursing homes and many in Arizona, while enjoying winters in a warmer climate. Alice traveled extensively with both her husbands, visiting all continental 48 states, Mexico and Canada. She enjoyed skiing, swimming, singing, crafting and volunteering.

Alice is survived by her two daughters, Diana (Bud) Hornby of California and Bonnie Vorisek of Ohio; four grandchildren; brother, Ralph Simpson of Nebraska; brother, Melvin Simpson of Kansas; stepson, Bob Clark (Diane) of Sioux City; stepdaughter-in-law, Lynne Clark of Sioux City; four stepgrandsons; numerous great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Alice was preceded in death by her parents; both husbands; a stepson; three sisters; and one brother.
