SIOUX CITY -- Nina G. (Antonovich) Baker, 87, of Sioux City died Saturday, Jan. 21, 2012, at Sunrise Retirement Community.

Services will be 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Thomas Orthodox Church, with the Very Rev. Archpriest Thomas Begley, the Rev. Father Sava Leida and Rev. Lucas Rice officiating. Burial will be in Floyd Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m. and a Trisagion service at 7 p.m., at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel. Condolences may be sent online to www.meyerbroschapels.com.

Nina was born Nov. 5, 1924, in Sioux City, the daughter of Gregory and Alexandra (Uran) Antonovich. She grew up in Sioux City and graduated from Central High School in 1943. She attended the National Business Training School in Sioux City.

She married Raymond J. Baker on Feb. 17, 1958, in Sioux City. He died on May 21, 1965. Nina worked for Farner-Bocken Company for 41 years.

When she was younger, she was a member of the Holy Resurrection Russian Orthodox Church. She had been a member of St. Thomas Orthodox Church and the ladies club for many years. Nina was also a member of Beta Sigma Phi.

She is survived by a sister-in-law, Donna Antonovich; nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Raymond; her special friend, James Krieger; a brother, Alexander Antonovich; and a sister, Mary Jackson.

Pallbearers will be Jeff, Tim, Tony and Jim Jackson, and Mike, Mark and Richard Antonovich.

Memorials may be made in her name to St. Thomas Orthodox Church.
