SERGEANT BLUFF -- Traci Ann Temple, 51, of Sergeant Bluff, formerly of Vermillion, S.D., died Saturday, April 28, 2012, at her brother's residence in Sergeant Bluff.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at Shepherd of Peace Lutheran Church in Sergeant Bluff. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 5:30 to 8 p.m. today, with a prayer service at 7 p.m., at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of Waterbury Funeral Service in Sergeant Bluff. Traci was born in Sioux City on Jan. 7, 1961, the daughter of Richard L. and Mildred (Godfredson) Tainter. Traci graduated from Sergeant Bluff Community Schools with the class of 1979. She was employed in Sioux City by Warren Electric. She attended Brooks College in Long Beach, Calif., and received her degree in interior design in 1981.

Traci was united in marriage to Rock Temple on Nov. 23, 1984, in Idaho. To this union three children were born. In Burley, Idaho, Traci was employed by Lee Furniture for 23 years as an interior designer. Traci also pursued a second career as an interpreter for the deaf. She attended the University of Idaho in Pocatello and Augustana Lutheran College in Sioux Falls, S.D. It was her dream to become an interpreter for the deaf.

Traci was very physically active and enjoyed participating in triathlons which included mountain biking, running and swimming. She also enjoyed painting with water colors. Traci was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer two and one half years ago. She was very courageous in her battle with cancer to the very end. She touched many people's lives with her compassion and kindness to others who were suffering too. She will be so dearly missed by all those who knew and loved her.

Traci will be missed by her family which includes her daughters, Alex Temple of Rupert, Idaho, and Libby Temple of Burley, Idaho; her mother, Milly Tainter of Corona, Calif.; her brothers, Tom Tainter and his wife, Laurel of Sergeant Bluff, and Tony Tainter and his wife, Donna of West Des Moines; and her sister, Terri Graham and her husband, George of Madison, Wis. She is also survived by Rock Temple of Burley, Idaho; along with many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her son, Isaac Temple; and her father, Richard Tainter.
