SIOUX CITY | Roy H. Weaver, 82, of Sioux City passed away Thursday, May 17, 2012, at Touchstone Living Center.

Services will be 6 p.m. Sunday at Waterbury Funeral Service in Sergeant Bluff. Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Monday in Memorial Park Cemetery, with military honors provided by the U.S. Navy. Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Roy was born on Sept. 18, 1929, in Sioux City, the son of Lyle and Zelma (Hewitt) Weaver. He attended East High School in Sioux City, and then graduated from Sergeant Bluff High School in 1948. Roy joined the U.S. Navy in September 1948. He was in the U.S. Navy for four years and then joined the U.S. Air Force and served for 17 years, retiring from the military in 1970. His various employments include Omar, Bud Fortin Service Station, and retired from Prince Manufacturing.

Roy married Betty O’Connell and was joined with three daughters, Anne, Debby, and Kathy. Roy and Betty later divorced. Roy married Jeanette Wilkinson in 1976 and acquired three more stepchildren, Tom, Judy, and Janice. Jeanette passed away in 1989. Roy met his special lady friend, Eileen Sardeson, in 1998 and they have been together since.

Roy was a member of the VFW 503, the American Legion Post 64 for 17 years, the Eagles Club since 1974, and the Moose Lodge.

Roy is survived by his special lady friend, Eileen Sardeson; stepchildren, Anne Marie Blatchford and her husband, Dave of Sioux City, Debby Yeska and her husband, Bob of South Sioux City, Kathy Ann Thie and her husband, Tom of Sioux Falls, S.D., Tom Gibbons of Denver, Colo., Judy Mor of Denver, and Janice Lange of Lincoln, Neb.; sister-in-law, Gwen Weaver of Littleton, Colo.; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Roy was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Jeanette Weaver; and brother, Jack Weaver.
