July 15, 2011SIOUX CITY -- Kenneth L. Olson, 72, passed away June 23, 2011, at his residence surrounded by family.
A celebration of life service will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Pheasant Acres Community Center with Chaplain Bev Hurni of Hospice officiating.
Kenneth was born Nov. 27, 1938, in Sioux City to Gilbert and Ruth (Potter) Olson. He grew up in Sioux City, attended Sioux City schools and was a lifelong resident of Sioux City.
He married Fayth Loraditch on Dec. 17, 1959, in South Sioux City, Neb.
Kenneth was employed with Miller-Knoepfler Chevrolet until his retirement in 1983. He later returned to work for Brouliette Auto Body and retired in August of 2010.
He enjoyed hunting and fishing, collecting movies, gatherings where you shared a good meal with family and friends and restoring old cars.
Survivors include his wife, Fayth, of Sioux City; three children: Brenda and Stan Huebert of Omaha, Neb., Robert and Liz Olson of Woodland Park, Colo., John and Crisena Olson of Sioux City; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; three sisters; and two brothers.
Arrangements are under the direction of Christy-Smith Funeral Home.
