SIOUX CITY -- Irene Frances Jotzke, 91, of Sioux City died Saturday, July 9, 2011, at a Sioux City hospital.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Morningside Lutheran Church, with the Rev. David Denzer officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m. and a prayer service at 7 p.m., at Morningside Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Home. Irene was born July 20, 1919, in Sioux City, the daughter of Joseph and Victoria (Gallas) Budraka. She attended East Junior High School and graduated from East High School in 1937.

Irene married Adolf Jotzke on Aug. 24, 1941. She was a housewife and volunteer. Adolf died on July 30, 2003.

Irene was a member of Morningside Lutheran Church, where she was active with the altar guild and W.I.G.S. She also was a past president of the P.T.A. state board and past president of the Girls of 68. She also had been a Cub Scout and Girl Scout leader.

Survivors include four children, Don and Cheryl Jotzke of Des Moines, Eileen Fleming of Glenwood, Iowa, Jim and Stephanie Jotzke of Delmont, Pa., and Ken and Doris Jotzke of Howell, Mich.; 11 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and special friends, Harold and April Hanson of Sioux City.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a granddaughter, Jennifer Jotzke; two sisters, Louise Loya and Alice Whalen; a son-in-law, Bill Fleming; and a daughter-in-law, Judy Jotzke.
