Seth W. Johnson, 78, Hornick, died Saturday, Feb. 27, at a Sioux City hospital.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the United Methodist church in Hornick. Rev. Paul Textor will officiate and burial will be in Smithland Cemetery under direction of the Wood Funeral Home of Sloan.

Mr. Johnson was born May 30, 1892, at Smithland. He had farmed and for many years was a blacksmith at Hornick. He married Martha Curtis June 2, 1920, in Sioux City. He was a lifetime resident of the Smithland and Hornick communities.

Survivors a r e his wife; two sons, Warren of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Russell of Sloan; five daughters, Mrs. Harland Stine Jr. of Galesburg, Ill., Mrs. William Alexander of Sioux City, Mrs. Lyle Copenhaver of Hinton and Mrs. John E. Fick of Danbury and Mrs. Patricia Dunham of Los Angeles, Calif.; and 14 grandchildren.
