Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Peace Lutheran Church near Rock Valley, for Emil A. Gillmann, 71, of Canoga Park, Calif., formerly of Sioux City. The Rev. Eugene Soland, pastor of Peace Lutheran Church, and the Rev. Elmer Jacobs of Charles City, officiated. Burial was in the church cemetery under the direction of the Schroeder Funeral Home, Akron.

Pallbearers were Elmer Winterfield, Harold Moeller, Charles Moeller, Alfred Adhers, Elmo Fletcher and Richard Witt.

Mr. Gillmann, who had lived in Sioux City almost 30 years, died Monday at a Canoga Park hospital after a long illness.

He was born Nov. 16,1902, at Alvord, Iowa. He married Lucy Boge in 1930 at Renwick, Iowa. The couple lived in Sioux City after their marriage, Mr. Gillmann was in business for himself as an electrician, and also worked as an electrician at the Sioux City Air Base during World War II, and for Thompson Electric Co. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church while in Sioux City. Mrs. Gillmann preceded her husband in death in 1949. Mr. Gillmann moved to Canoga Park about 15 years ago.

Survivors include a son, Harold, Woodland Hills, Calif.; three grandchildren; five sisters, Mrs. Emma Stryzewski and Mrs. Verna Lehmann, both of Akron, and Mrs. Louise Linderkamp, Mrs. Clara Jacobs and Mrs. Florence Kramer all of Charles City; three brothers, Paul, Rock Rapids; Arthur, Sioux City, and Hilbert of Buena Park, Calif..
