SIOUX CITY -- David A. Kutz, 81, of Sioux City passed away Thursday, March 17, 2011.

Memorial and burial services will be held at a later date in Silver Lake Cemetery at Lake Park, Iowa. Arrangements are under the direction of Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel.

Born on Jan. 30, 1930, in Detroit, Mich., David was the son of Bernard Tehaney and Mary Kutz. He married Jean (Lawson) Kutz on March 1, 1959, in Sioux City.

David honorably served his country in the U.S. Air Force from his enlistment in 1947 to his retirement as a master sergeant in 1969. David then worked in the insurance and auto sales fields until 1992.

David enjoyed fishing and bowling. He had a passion for music which included involvement in barbershop and church choirs.

Survivors include his wife, Jean of Sioux City; three sons, Mike (Carol) Kutz of Lagrange, Maine, Keith (Brenda) Kutz of Ames, Iowa, and Doug Kutz of Sioux City; one daughter, Lori (Jay) Rothman of Omaha, Neb.; one brother, Robert Hamilton; three sisters, Delores (Al) Remenicky, Betty Thomas and Sharon Miller; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers.

Memorials in David's name may be made to Hospice of Siouxland.
