.SIOUX CITY -- Sydney Gail Bronston, 63, of Sioux City passed away Thursday, March 17, 2011, at a Sioux City hospital.

Services will be 1 p.m. today at Congregation Beth Shalom Synagogue in Sioux City, with Rabbi Guy Green officiating. Burial will be in Independent Farane Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel.

Sydney was born Feb. 28, 1948, in Detroit, Mich., to Morris and Joanne (Kaner) Vernick.

She married Mitch Bronston on July 11, 1999, in Sioux City.

Sydney enjoyed sewing, needle point, making quilts and playing rummy. She was a member of Congregation Beth Shalom.

Survivors include her husband, Mitch of Sioux City; three children, Alissa Snyder and her husband, Randy of Stillwater, Okla., Kimberly Moskos of Sioux City, and Brandon Moskos of Detroit; a stepdaughter, Talya Smith of Chicago; five grandchildren, Jordan, Hannah, Joshua, Katherine and Emily; a sister, Roberta Fisher and her husband, Graham of Lapeer, Mich.; a brother, Alan Vernick of Florida; a brother-in-law, Scott Bronston and his wife, Karen of Lenexa, Kan.; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Hospice of Siouxland or Congregation Beth Shalom Synagogue.
