SIOUX CITY -- Karen Phillip Denton, 59, of Lake Isabella, Calif., formerly of Sioux City, peacefully passed away on Thursday, Feb. 24, 2011, at her home.

Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday in Southlake, Calif., at 3729 Goat Ranch Road. All friends and family will be present.

Karen was born in Sioux City, on July 20, 1951, to Lucille (Whitmore) and Irvin Ralph Phillip. Karen bartended and worked at Braungers Meats before she moving to California, where she became self-employed.

Living life to the fullest, she enjoyed spending time with friends and family.

Karen is survived by two daughters, Tammy Thorson and Tonya Musselman; one son, Bodie Thorson; six grandchildren, Kaylie, Daniel, Kevin, Kenny, Ashley and Melissa; Karen's mothers, Lucille Knutson of Sioux City, and Margaret Phillips of Lake Tahoe, Calif.; brother, Ricky and Julie Anderson; sisters, Ronda and Jerry Redfern, Robin and Ward Palmer, Wendy and Larry Thomas, Colette and David Silva; brothers, Glenn and Jennifer Phillips, Bodie and Ava Thorson; and several aunts, uncles, nieces nephews, and cousins.

Karen was preceded in death by Randy Dean Anderson; and fathers, Quentin Andy Anderson, Irvin Phillips and Raymond Knutson.

The family wishes to thank the staff of Lake Isabella Hospice and all friends and family who helped in the family's sorrow.
