SIOUX CITY -- LaVonne Ann "Bonnie" Keegan, 75, of Sioux City passed away Sunday, Feb. 27, 2011, in San Antonio, Texas.

Services will be 1:30 p.m. Friday at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel, with the Rev. Martha Anderson officiating. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, with the family present at 6 p.m. and a prayer service at 7 p.m., at the funeral home. Bonnie was born Nov. 23, 1935, in Sioux City, to Albert and Eunice (Cook) Jones. She received her education at Sioux City Schools, graduating from Central High.

Bonnie married Paul L. "Ted" Keegan on Feb. 27, 1954. The couple made Sioux City their home. Bonnie worked for more than 25 years, and retired from, Iowa Public Service, where she was the manager of the "Reddy Room" (the cafeteria).

Bonnie was extremely active with her children, being involved with school fundraisers, always being the person in the group holding a camera, and sharing her extraordinary Christmas candy. She was talented in cake decorating, cooking, and many crafts that she and her husband Ted would sell at various craft fairs in the area. Bonnie was an active member of the Church of All Nations, and enjoyed her service to the Goodwill Auxiliary. She participated in the South Bottom's Reunion Committee along with her proud membership to the Red Hat Society in Sioux City. Bonnie and Ted were snowbirds, spending 17 winters at Trophy Gardens in Alamo, Texas.

Bonnie is survived by her children, Ricky Keegan and his wife, Mary of Sioux City, Randy Keegan and his wife, Charlene of Sioux City, and Deb Motz and her husband, Bill of San Antonio, Texas; sister, Dorothy Krull of Flandreau, S.D.; grandchildren, Paul Keegan, James Keegan and his wife, Nicole, Ben Keegan and his wife, Holly, and Jacob Keegan, all of Sioux City; great-grandchildren, Calen, Kooper, and Randy; and her companion pet, Precious.

Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ted in June 2010; brother, Alan Fredrick; sisters, Evelyn Birkley and Gladys Scott; and infant twin daughters.
