DANBURY, Iowa -- Bryan R. Swee, 58, of Danbury died unexpectedly Friday, April 15, 2011, at his home in Danbury.

Services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Armstrong Funeral Home in Mapleton, Iowa, with the Rev. Len Garrison officiating. Burial will be 3 p.m. Tuesday in Bluff View Cemetery at Vermillion, S.D. Visitation will be 4 to 7 p.m. today, with a prayer service at 7 p.m., at the funeral home.

Bryan Raynold Swee was born July 4, 1952, in Vermillion, S.D., to his parents, Marvin and Lorraine (Peterson) Swee. He attended grade school and graduated from Vermillion High School in 1971. He then attended automotive school.

On April 3, 1974, he married Barbara Cook. They later divorced. Bryan worked as a senior master technician at Barry Motor Company in Danbury for 27 years. He enjoyed his work and took pride in attending training classes. He also worked at Schrank's Bar and Grill and TJ's Time Out in Danbury.

He enjoyed following a variety of sports, fishing, being outdoors and gardening. He also coached Little League baseball for several years and had a special love for dogs. Bryan will be remembered for his strong work ethic, kindness and generosity.

Grateful for sharing his life are his son, Nick (Lucy) Swee of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; his mother, Lorraine Swee of Vermillion, S.D.; brothers, Steve (Claudia) of Omaha, Neb., and Bradley (Linda) of Vermillion; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his father, Marvin Swee and his sister, Suzanne Swee.
