PIERSON, Iowa -- Micheale L. Cooper, 48, of Pierson died Saturday, May 28, 2011, at a Sioux City hospital following an extended illness.

Visitation, with the family present, will be 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, with a prayer service at 7 p.m., at New Life Baptist Church in Kingsley, Iowa, with the Rev. Ken Kraft officiating. Rohde Funeral Home of Kingsley is handling the funeral arrangements.

Micheale was born May 16, 1963, in Sioux City, to Vincent (Mike) and Francella M. (Crowe) Chaussee. She attended St. Boniface School until eighth grade, when she attended West High School in Sioux City, graduating in 1981. After high school, Micheale continued to live and work in the Sioux City area. She worked as a waitress at U.S.A. Steak Buffet and a clerk at Bomgaars.

She had a passion for laughter and group settings. She always enjoyed listening to her daughter's singing and hearing about her son's outdoor adventures. Micheale was an active member of New Life Baptist Church, and the church was an important part of her life.

Micheale is survived by her husband, George Cooper of Sioux City; daughter, Angel Rae Cooper of Pierson; her son, Tony Cooper of Pierson; one stepdaughter, Shelietha Ford of Sioux City; two stepsons, George Ford of Sioux City, and Marque Davis of Homestead, Fla.; seven stepgrandchildren; two brothers, Ron (Lynn) Peters of Shreveport, La., and Michael Wood of Omaha; two sisters, Shelly (Ron) Beckstrom of Pierson, and Michelle Carley of Seattle, Wash.; numerous nieces and nephews; and two special friends, Michala Collins and Kathy Stepp.

Micheale was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Tony Chaussee.
