25 May 2011SIOUX CITY -- Veronica E. Carpenter, 92, of Sioux City died Sunday, May 22, 2011, at her residence under the care of Hospice of Siouxland and her loving grandchildren.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Sioux City, with the Rev. Michael Erpelding officiating. Burial will be in Graceland Park Cemetery. Visitation with the family present will be held one hour prior to the services Thursday at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of Waterbury Funeral Service. Veronica was born May 30, 1918, in Jackson, Neb., the daughter of Jim and Winifred (League) McCormick. She moved to Sioux City at an early age. She attended the Iowa School for the Blind. With her disability, she raised her three children and was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
Veronica is survived by her nine grandchildren and her 26 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her three children, Gaylen Carpenter, David Steward and Helen Davis; and her brothers and sisters.
