Kingsley, Iowa – Marjorie A. “Marge” Page, 93, of Kingsley, Iowa, passed away Tuesday afternoon, May 3, 2011, at the Kingsley Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 7, 2011, at the Congregational United Church of Christ in Kingsley. Rev. Robert Blair and Rev. Steven Swenson will officiate Marge’s service. Interment will be in the Kingsley Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, April 6, 2011, at the Johnson-Earnest Funeral Home in Kingsley with the family present from 5:30-8:00 p.m. The Order of the Eastern Star Kingsley-Pierson Chapter 171 will provide an Eastern Star service at 7:00 p.m. The visitation will continue at the Congregational United Church of Christ on Saturday morning, one hour prior to Marge’s service.

Marjorie Arlene Page, the daughter of Maggie (Simonsen) and John D. Moritz, was born on March 27, 1918, in Kingsley, Iowa. She graduated from Kingsley High School in 1936, and furthered her education at Westmar College. Prior to her marriage, Marge taught at the rural country school. On June 19, 1938, Marge was united in marriage to her high school sweetheart, Donald Pershing Page. Together, they loved dancing to the music of the “Big Bands,” and became the proud and busy parents of twelve children. Marge was a devoted member of the Congregational United Church of Christ in Kingsley, as well as, a charter member of the T.T.T. Society, and the Kingsley-Pierson Order of the Eastern Star Chapter 171.

Some of Marge’s hobbies and interests included embroidery, quilting, crocheting, and knitting. She enjoyed flowers, cooking large, homemade meals, and staying in touch with all the happenings in the lives of her family. Many area residents may recall that Marge was a substitute teacher in Kingsley for numerous years. She treasured the time that she spent working with students and developing lasting friendships. Marge was a very proud woman, a hard-worker, gentle and loving. She will be forever cherished in the hearts and memories of her family and friends.

Marge is survived by her children, Bruce (Terri) Page of Jacksonville, FL, Barbara (Gary) Buchholz of Eugene, OR, Anita (Gary) Coffman of Avon, CT, Marsha (David) VanderBroek of Hartley, IA, Frank (LuAnn) Page of Ankeny, IA, Ed (Greta) Page of Hewitt, TX, Lisa (Steven) Swenson of Ocheyedan, IA, Jana (Byron) Peyton of Grimes, IA, and John Page of Glenwood, IA; her daughter-in-law, Jodi Page of Overland Park, KS; her son-in-law, Roland Huisenga of Sibley, IA; her 34 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren; and numerous other relatives and friends and caregivers.

Preceding Marge in death is her husband, Donald Page in 2008; her two daughters, Brenda Huisenga and Betty Lou Page; her son, Donald Brian Page; her parents, John and Maggie Moritz; her sister, Bobby Mentzer; and her brother, Jack Moritz.
