Bronson, Iowa—Harry A. Adams, 97, Bronson’s oldest resident, died Sunday in a Sioux City nursing Home after a short illness.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday in the Elliott Creek Presbyterian Church, Bronson. The Rev. Robert Peters will officiate. Burial will be in Graceland Park Cemetery in Sioux City under the direction of the W. Harry Christy Funeral Home in Morningside.

Mr. Adams was born Jan. 24, 1885, in Alta. He came to Sioux City at the age of 21 where he attended National Business Training School. He moved to Bronson in February 1906.

He married Irene A. Smith November 5, 1921, in Bronson.

He was in the banking business for many years in Bronson and then worked for the Federal Land Bank for many years in Sioux City. He also was involved in real estate and insurance.

Mr. Adams served on the school board in Bronson for many years, serving as secretary and treasurer. He served on the board of directors of the telephone company. He was a 60-year member of Tyrian Lodge 508, AF&AM member of Sioux City Consistory and former member of the Shrine Temple and Odd Fellows.

Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Mrs. Earl (Joyce) Moore of Sioux City; three sisters, Mrs. Audrey Clemons and Mrs. Edna Spencer, both of Storm Lake, and Mrs. Ina Stephens of Laguna Hills, Calif.; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
