SIOUX CITY -- Bonnie J. Geick, 69, of Sioux City passed away Thursday, Feb. 17, 2011, at her residence.

Services will be 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Holy Spirit Retirement Chapel, with the Rev. Dennis Meinen officiating. Burial will be in Palm Valley View Cemetery at Las Vegas, Nev. Visitation will be one hour prior to service time Tuesday at Holy Spirit Retirement Chapel. Arrangements are under the direction of Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel.

Bonnie was born the daughter of John and Jean (Murphy) Hofstader on Jan. 18, 1942, in St. Paul, Minn. She attended school at St. Patrick's Grade School and graduated from Estherville High School in 1960.

She then attended Stewart School of Hairstyling, where she met her husband, Tom. The couple was married on April 4, 1961. After a few years in Sioux City, the couple made their home in Las Vegas until Tom's death in 1999. Bonnie returned to Sioux City in 2002.

Bonnie worked for J.C. Penney for over 30 years. She enjoyed going to craft shows and taking care of her yard and flowerbeds.

Bonnie is survived by three sons, Pat (Christina) Geick of Charlotte, N.C., Chris Geick of Las Vegas, and Tom Geick of Las Vegas; her mother, Jean Hofstader; one brother, Gary (Diane) Hofstader of Wallingford, Iowa; two sisters, Kathleen (Jerry) Gnewuch of Sioux City; and Dianna Howard of Carson City, Nev.; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents; father; husband, Tom; and daughter-in-law, Debra.
